Omega-3 fatty acids have been said to be good for the heart and body, and this new study finds that they might be good for heart attack survivors who also have depression.
According to the article, Depression can cause 'abnormal heart rate variability', a condition in which the heart can't adjust so well to the body's changing demands. Omega-3 fats may improve this variability.
Also, the "special" formulation they talk about appears to help the condition of depression itself as well, and seems to improve the way antidepressant medication works for these patients.
