Stress and anxiety definitely can cause rashes and other skin problems.
I don't know the scientific data or specific cases, but I know people who have skin problems caused by stress. This could be a coincidence though... it's all speculation.

From what I understand it isn't that uncommon to have rashes. It could be that your stress is causing you to produce histamine.
Just a thought.
