The comments made by Tom Cruise during his publicity tour in which he chose to say things about about mental health problems and medications, bringing up false 'facts' and pushing his own agenda, created a bit of confusion for some people, especially those without knowledge of the topic he was so quick to say he knew so well.
Anyway, a few mental health organizations got together and released a statement in response to Cruise's comments here:

By the way, Tom Cruise's chosen religion of Scientology, which is biased against medication, is based on ideas and beliefs originated from L. Ron Hubbard, the famous sci fi writer. The religion includes beliefs in past lives, extraterrestrial civilizations and alien interventions into Earthly affairs. Here's a little bit about that if you are interested:
