According to this report, family members can either help or hurt a person who is trying to recover from Agoraphobia. Family members who are hostile, or get too emotionally involved with the Agoraphobia sufferer and his or her dilemma actually have a negative impact on their recovery. Family members that are supportive without being too overbearing seem to help recovery.
