This article discusses how important it is for children, after experiencing a crisis such as the destruction of Hurricane Katrina, to learn how to cope and to receive proper support and guidance in the wake of such a tragedy. Its important their emotional needs are met and they receive the care they need in coping with and overcoming the losses and major life changes that can be caused by such terrifying and life-altering circumstances.
